Call for Mini Symposium/Themed Break-Out Session Submissions

The program planning committee welcomes submissions from researchers to propose mini-symposiums / workshops relevant to proposed conference topics.

Deadline for submission is February 28, 2017  

How to Submit

  1. Prepare a summary of your symposia by gathering the following information:
    • Title of Mini Symposia / Themed Break-Out Session - Please provide a short descriptive title for your Workshop. (125 characters)
    • Proponent Chairs - Please list name of proponent chair(s). We suggest maximum of two.
    • Objectives - Describe the objectives of the Symposium/Themed Break-Out Session, the characteristics and format of the proposed sessions, and justify its relevance. (limited to 4000 characters including spaces)
    • Speakers/ Discussants - Provide a list of speakers associated with each presentation. You may wish to consider discussants
    • Short Description - Short and attractive program description for website (limited to 1000 characters)

    • Long Description - This will be provided for PDF download (limited to 5000 characters)

    • Keywords - Please provide keywords relevant to your proposal
    • Proposed Abstracts - Please provide abstracts for each proposed topic. Abstracts should typically include standard categories e.g. Research Purpose, Methods, Results, Conclusions, Take Home Messages, Funding Acknowledgement if based on a series of presentations.
    • Promotion - Do you have networks / contacts who may be interested in promoting this workshop? We ask you to share the conference through those networks.
  2. Create an account through our online abstract submission site. 
  3. Now you can login to the site using the email and password you just created.
  4. Once logged in as an Author, you can choose "Create a new Submission" from the top left and choose "Workshop Proposal". Complete Title, Author Information, and fill out the form with your previously prepared information from Step 1. If you need any assistance, please contact the Conference Secretariat,
  5. You will receive feedback on the status of your workshop within 30 days of submission.
  6. All approved workshop chairs and speakers are required to register for the conference by March 31, 2017.
    • Early-bird registration rates will be in effect until March 31, 2017.

Review Criteria

All abstracts submitted are blinded and reviewed by a minimum of 2 reviewers

  • Appropriate and relevant to conference
  • Useful knowledge and direction
  • New or unique material
  • Purpose and objectives clearly stated
  • Methods / data collection clear and appropriate
  • Results clearly stated
  • Conclusions appropriate with research design and findings
  • Limitations noted
  • Any perceived Conflict of Interest that warrants concern
